Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of Open Book, run by Code Studio Global (Pvt) Ltd, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Using the service means you accept them. They are written to be read, not to be survived — if something here seems unfair, tell us at hello@openbook.lk.
What Open Book is
Software that gives your salon a public booking page, a calendar for your staff, a customer list, and automatic SMS reminders before appointments. You keep your own customers and your own business; we provide the tools.
Your account
- You need a working email address and mobile number, and you must keep them current.
- Keep your password to yourself. What happens under your login is your responsibility.
- One account is for one salon business. Tell us if you run more than one branch.
The free plan
The free plan is free, with no time limit and no card required. It covers one salon, up to 3 staff, up to 30 services and 50 reminder messages a month. We may change what the free plan includes; if we reduce it we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email.
Paid plans
- Prices are in Sri Lankan rupees: Rs 2,500 a month, or Rs 25,000 a year.
- Payment is taken through PayHere. We never see your card number.
- A plan runs for the period you paid for. It does not renew by itself — we remind you before it ends and you choose whether to continue.
- If a plan ends, your booking page stays up and your data stays. Your account returns to the free plan’s limits; anything above them is switched off rather than deleted, and comes back if you upgrade again.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice. A period you have already paid for is never repriced.
Refunds
If the service does not work as described and we cannot fix it, write to us within 14 days of paying and we will refund that payment in full. Beyond that, we do not refund part-used periods — but you can try everything on the free plan first, for as long as you like, which is why the free plan has no expiry.
Messages you send through us
Reminders and confirmations go to your customers under your salon’s name, so the content is your responsibility. You agree to use them only for appointments and service messages, not for bulk marketing, and to respect anyone who replies STOP. We may suspend messaging that breaks this or that breaches Sri Lankan telecoms rules.
What we ask you not to do
- Break the law, or use Open Book for anything other than a real salon business.
- Try to reach another salon’s data, or to break or overload the service.
- Resell Open Book as if it were your own product.
Uptime and limits of responsibility
We work hard to keep Open Book running, but we do not promise it will never be unavailable. We are not responsible for business you lose through an outage, a message that does not arrive, or a mistake in what was entered. If we are found liable despite that, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous 12 months.
Nothing here removes rights you have under Sri Lankan consumer law.
Ending it
You can stop using Open Book at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right unless the law prevents us.
Changes to these terms
If we change them we will update the date above, and email salon owners about anything material. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Colombo have jurisdiction.
